Well, apparently it's been almost a year and a half since we had an "official" blog update!
And a lot has happened! Brody turned 3 last February and we celebrated with a "Little Engine That Could" themed birthday party at our local train musuem. Brody loved it!
Brody also started pre school last February. He really enjoyed his spring semester. We wrapped school up a week early to head to Delaware. Last January our team decided it was time to get Brody's neck fixed, after two and a half years of monitoring it. So, on May 29th Brody went into a halo. We stayed in the hospital for traction for two weeks to help straighten his neck out. Brody had a great response to the traction, and it allowed Dr Mackenzie to do a less invasive fusion of his cervical spine. After a total of 18 days in the hospital, Brody was discharged and we headed home a week later. Brody has spent the summer in a halo, and while it hasn't exactly been fun, he has adapted so well in it. These three months have simultaneously flown by and drug on forever, but Brody will be halo-free right after Labor Day! So, we are prepping for another trip back to Delaware, but will be free of one large metal accessory when we return!
That's the (really) quick and short of it! Now that we are past this hurdle, hopefully we will actually update more frequently. Of course, there are always shorter updates on Facebook and Instagram. Now time to get ready for back to school!
